February 7: More than Gold

These troubles come to prove that your faith is pure. This purity of faith is worth more than gold. Gold can be proved to be pure by fire, but gold can be destroyed. But the purity of your faith will bring you praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ comes again. -1 Peter 1:7 ICB

Did you know that gold is one of the most precious metals because it is one of the strongest and shiniest? Gold doesn't just come out of the ground like that though; it has to be cleaned with fire!

God says that our belief in Jesus is like gold. It is very precious and very strong. It's important that we see our faith as a treasure just like a piece of gold.
